Be a Virtual Volunteer
Virtual Volunteer Toolkit
It’s volunteers like you helping to spread the word about ReachOut.com to your social networks that will help us help young people make it through tough times. Here are some options for how you can get involved:
Spread the word with ReachOut.com stickers
Let people know about ReachOut.com with stickers – put one on your car, your notebook or laptop. Be creative! Just email us your name and snail mail address and let us know how many stickers you would like (up to 100). Post a photo of where you place your sticker on our Facebook Wall.
Join the ReachOut Forums
Our forums are a place where young people can share what’s on their minds, and in turn, receive advice and support from their peers. On some threads young people will share a tough time they’ve gone through, while on others they enjoy sharing their favorite books and movies, or even discussing the meaning of the word “YOLO!” Be a Community Builder on the Forums and provide supportive and welcoming comments.
Spread the word to your virtual friends on social networking sites
Share a ReachOut.com factsheet, story or video link as a status update on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. On most social networks, adding the link will generate the ReachOut.com logo in your post and in your Facebook Newsfeed, Twitter Stream or LinkedIn Network Activity. Here’s how:
- Make sure you have already completed the log-in for the social network of your choice (e.g. if you are using Facebook, that you have put in your email address and password).
- Go back to the fact sheet or story on ReachOut.com you would like to share.
- Click on the “Share” link just above the fact sheet, on the right side of the page.
- Select your network from the list. Scroll down if you do not see the one you want to add to.
- Click the send or share button on your post and you’re done!
Once the link is added, you can “Like” it as well on Facebook. Don’t forget to become a fan of our Facebook page (ReachOut USA) friend us on Twitter (ReachOutinUSA) andencourage your friends to do the same!
